Steve Barcak
"Starting, Charging & Cooling your Pontiac"
Making them reliable
This forum will cover his experiences with keeping Pontiacs cool and reliable and can be of benefit to everyone. Steve has more driven miles on Pontiac V-8s than anyone else known at well over 600,000 and has used various Pontiacs for primary transportation since 1975. This includes towing, racing, marine use and daily driving. In 2007, Steve drove his '72 455HO GTO on a 7 week road trip totaling nearly 11,000 miles with no issues. Steve has hosted Pontiac Heaven events since 1999, has saved over 700 vintage Pontiacs from the crusher and currently owns about 450 Pontiacs. In 2006, Steve's "Pontiac Heaven Special" AA/FD set the absolute ET record for a Pontiac Powered vehicle in the 1/4 mile at 6.77. Currently, he is working on relocating his Pontiac collection and establishing the Pontiac Heaven museum which will feature Pontiacs V-8 years 1955-1981. Eventually, Steve would like to run at Bonneville.

What is Pontiac Heaven?
Pontiac Heaven is hosted by myself with the help of volunteers and sponsors that have established an annual Pontiac powered event to the southwest. All events have been at SpeedWorld Motorplex, outside of Phoenix, Az.
Its purpose is to bring fans of vintage Pontiacs together for showing, racing and parts as well as sharing ideas. So far, it has done just that. Hopefully, it will grow to become bigger yet. People have attended from all over the United States plus many other countries around the globe. Me being true to the faith, have made these events unique in that they are the only events that are exclusively for true Pontiac powered vehicles. We are not concerned what kind vehicle you bring out, just as long as it has a real Pontiac engine. Real Pontiac meaning that it was built by Pontiac from 1955-81 (or earlier). The Pontiac engine was, sadly, discontinued after the 1981 model year due to GM restructuring and have had engines produced by other divisions. Some Pontiacs had non Pontiac engines by '72. For more on this, scroll down the page.
Some entrants that had Pontiacs engines that were not originally installed in them were- '92 Trans Am, a flat bottom/vee drive and a jet boat, a Monte Carlo and a pick up truck to name a few. These are all welcomed here.
Any input you may have about past and/or future events is welcomed. You can e-mail me with any suggestions to- steve@pontiacheaven.org
If you are interested in supporting Pontiac Heaven and Nostalgia Show & Go! Events through sponsorship, contact me. All sponsors are very much appreciated and NECESSARY as funding goes toward making a better event for all.
*******************************************************************
Please Note!!!! Participation at Pontiac Heaven events is restricted! This is NOT an "All Pontiac" event. Only Real Pontiac powered vehicles may participate. Pontiac Heaven events are a series of tributes and celebrations of the Beloved Pontiac V-8 built from 1955 through 1981. After 1981 all Pontiac V-8 production ceased (see "About Pontiac Heaven" page) and v-8 "pontiacs' had chev engines after that, making them corporate. There was a time when a Pontiac was a Pontiac and other GM brands each had their own engines. That time is gone but, will live forever at Pontiac Heaven and its events. We also welcome pre '55 flathead Pontiacs, slant 4 Tempests and OHC 6's. Pontiac v-8s have the fuel pump on the driver side, distributor in back with counter clockwise rotation, 10 head bolts and torque characteristics like no other engine and their will be no chev or "corporate" engines at my events, strictly enforced. If you are not into our engine, you are welcome as a guest. If you want to race with your corporate motor, go to a super chev show or, if your car is American and older than an 1981 model, you are most welcome on Sunday for our "Nostalgic Show & Go!".
